A bold, occasionally infuriating, ultimately exhilarating book about the nature of explanation itself. Deutsch argues that good explanations are the engine of all progress and that there is no problem that is in principle unsolvable by the right kind of knowledge. I disagree with about a third of it. The other two thirds I think about constantly.
